Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires Vita Title

Koei Tecmo has given us a confirmed release date for the PS Vita version of their mass battle strategy epic Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires and that date is November 24, 2015. This is a North American release that will be a digital exclusive title and, in a surprising turn of events, will be released in the west before it comes out even in Japan. It’s good to see third parties still supporting the Vita, which has long been rumored to be a platform with numbered days. But it’s hard to believe that the system is sliding with so many great titles coming out for it from Japan and in the indie scene. Still, regardless of that doom and gloom, thank you Koei Tecmo for giving us more to do with our under-appreciated Sony handhelds.

Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires has all of the thrill of battle you’ve come to expect from the long running Omega Force developed series of war in China but also adds strategy, tactics, politics and intrigue that allow you to pave your own way to glory and conquest. This offshoot offers a bit more than just button mashing and item farming and has been generally well received for its variations on the series’ well worn but beloved action elements.

Koei Tecmo gave us a bunch of new screen shots to show off exactly how this is going to look on the PS Vita. And here you go!

Are you ready to welcome back Lu Bu, Cao Cao and the rest of the Dynasty Warriors gang? They’re coming to PS Vita in North America as a digital release on PSN on November 24, 2015.
