From 1991 to 2008, there was an ongoing manga series based on The Legend of Zelda franchise, covering most of the games such as Ocarina of Time, Majora’s Mask, Oracle of Ages, and Oracle of Ages to name a few. Their last manga for the series was a prequel story for 2011’s Skyward Sword. Akira Himekawa, the joint name of two artists who have been writing the manga under a pen name as they do not want to officially reveal their real names, have recently revealed that a new manga is in the works. On the Japanese twitter for the series, the top image was tweeted, along with an official post from Akira Himekawa’s Facebook confirming that a new manga is in the works.
It’s not known which The Legend of Zelda game this new manga could be based on, but it’ll likely be for one of the recent games since 2008, since they did almost every game prior to that, with the only ones that were left out being Link’s Awakening, The Wind Waker, Spirit Tracks and Twilight Princess. The silhouette looks like a taller, older Link, so it could be a manga based on Skyward Sword or Twilight Princess, given how the sword the silhoutette is holding resembles Link’s beginning sword in those games. The manga is set to be released later in 2015.
