Let me be frank for a minute. I was not impressed by Ubisoft last year. There was very little that looked impressive. And I get the feeling I’m not the only one. They need to step it up. Can they do it? Let’s find out.
It begins with a new adventure with the kids from South Park. This time, it will be a super hero game. It will be called South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and it will be developed by Ubisoft San Fransisco.
Following this, we get a look at For Honor. The game is centered around combat from different eras and cultures, such as vikings, samurais, and medieval knights. Fighting will revolve around what they call “The Art of Battle”, which will hopefully have you feel the impact of everything. You can register to get a chance to play the game early at forhonorgame.com.
Next up is an expansion for The Crew. It will be called Wild Run and launch this November.
Following that is a trailer for Trials Fusion: Awesome Level MAX. I’m not sure what to say other than it had a cat holding a gun riding a fire-breathing unicorn.
After that weirdness, we get The Division. In case you don’t remember, this is an online, open world, shooter RPG that deals with the world after a major virus outbreak. The Division will have a beta on Xbox One, PS4, and PC early next year and release March 8th, 2016.
Following The Division is a game from Blue Byte called Anno 2205. It is a city building game where you start on Earth but are able to leave the planet and colonize the moon later on. A beta will launch later this year.
And then there is Just Dance 2016. Phones can be used in place of camera-based motion controls. Also, something about Jason Derulo. I don’t know, I muted it while he was on stage. The game will launch in October. Also, Wii U, PS4, and Xbox One players will have a chance to use a streaming service called Just Dance Unlimited, allowing you to get new songs throughout the year.
As we forget about that, we move on to Rainbow Six Siege, the new game in the Rainbow Six sub-series of Tom Clancy games. The game will also feature a mode called Terrohunt, a solo/co-op vs. AI mode. The beta for the game starts on September 24th, 2015. And in case you weren’t interested in the game… at least Angela Bassett showed up to talk about acting.
Following that demonstration, we get a look at the new Trackmania Turbo. The game will feature over 200 tracks plus a mode called Infinite Tracks, which creates a random track for you.
Next is Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, the latest mainline game in the series. A lot of familiar elements will be there. But this time, the game will be in London during the industrial revolution.
Finally, we have a reveal of a new game. After a long trailer that shows off the world, we see that it is Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Wildlands. The game promises a massive open world as you look to take down drug king pins.
And that is it. Did Ubisoft do anything to make you feel better about them? Was it worse than last year? Let us know in the comments.
