Takayuki Yamada - PlayStation 4 Ad Campaign

In a new series of advertisements celebrating the 20th anniversary of the PlayStation brand and the PS4 console, famous Japanese actor and singer Takayuki Yamada is seen turning down offers of work because he’s too busy playing all them games. In the first of these videos, he talks on a cell phone while walking the streets of Tokyo and telling the person on the other end of the conversation (presumably an agent) that he can’t take on any new jobs because he already has two projects he’s working on simultaneously. What are these projects? See for yourself.

As if the monumental tasks of completing Dragon Quest Heroes and Final Fantasy Type-0 HD, two guaranteed time sinks, weren’t enough for him, he decides to put himself through some real hell in the most recent TV spots, all conveniently compiled for you below.

God Eater 2: Rage Burst? Resident Evil Revelations 2? Bloodborne? One Piece Pirate Warriors 3? Yamada is showing off serious game cred with these choices. Will the man ever work in film or music again? Only time will tell.

Of course, this is all part of a very clever marketing campaign by Sony in Japan to feature many of the new and exciting games coming to the PS4 in the coming weeks and months. Truly an amazing lineup of titles. We wish you the best of luck in completing them, Yamada-san!

As an extra bonus, here’s a fun little ‘making of’ video for the ad campaign.

Really smart, talks too much, loves the video games and the Star Wars and the Game of Thrones, likes the manga and some anime and knows that Kentaro Miura's Berserk is the greatest thing ever made.
