Shulk | Super Smash Bros. Dated for West

Nintendo has just revealed that Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be released worldwide in the next two months. Nintendo of America has announced that North America will receive the game on the 21st of November, in time for the Thanksgiving sales in the U.S. Meanwhile, Nintendo of Europe and Nintendo of Australia have announced release dates of the 5th and 6th of December respectively. These dates also include the GameCube controller adapter bundle, which allows you to play the Wii U version of the game using GameCube controllers. Nifty.

Nintendo has also revealed when the first wave of amiibo figures will be released. North Americans can get their hands on it the same day as Smash while Europeans and Australians get it on the 28th and 29th of November. The second wave hits stores in Europe on the 19th of December and Australia on the 12th of December. No date for the second wave was given for North America other than December.

The first batch of amiibos are:

  • Mario
  • Peach
  • Yoshi
  • Donkey Kong
  • Link
  • Fox
  • Samus
  • Wii Fit Trainer
  • Villager
  • Pikachu
  • Kirby
  • Marth

Lastly, Nintendo has also confirmed that you can purchase the Super Smash Bros. GameCube controller and adapter separately upon release. Looks like we’ll be having a smashing Christmas… *ahem*.

Are you guys ready to smash come holiday season?

About David Rawlings

David Rawlings, or ‘Rawky’ as we like to call him, joined the Operation Rainfall Campaign at the beginning. He’s British and found solace with us as he was able to understand our pain about Nintendo and their localizing faux pas. He’s a big fan of the letter ‘U’ and refuses to remove them from words, even though we constantly ask him to. He also believes it’s about time Princess Daisy got kidnapped.
