At PAX East 2014, Jonathan Higgins interviewed Daisuke “Pixel” Amaya, the one-man force behind Cave Story developer Studio Pixel, with publisher Playism’s Josh Weatherford translating. Pixel talks about his next game, Kero Blaster, its storytelling techniques, what makes him happy as a game designer, and what it’s like to go from solo work to collaborating with another level designer.

Also watch our interview with Mr. Weatherford, where he talks about how Playism gained the publishing rights to Kero Blaster.

Follow Pixel on his website, Twitter feed, and YouTube channel.

Special thanks to Mr. Weatherford for serving as translator for this interview.
