J-Stars Victory VS - oprainfall

Namco Bandai has released a new trailer for J-Stars Victory VS a new fighting game featuring characters from various Shonen Jump manga series. So far, the following characters have been confirmed:

  • Monkey D. Luffy (One Piece)
  • Goku (Dragon Ball Z)
  • Naruto Uzumaki (Naruto)
  • Ichigo Kurosaki (Bleach)
  • Kenshin Himura (Rurouni Kenshin)
  • Ryotsu Kankichi (Kochikame)
  • Sakata Gintoki (Gintama)
  • Toriko (Toriko)

The trailer shows off each of these characters along with some of the moves they will be using. They seem to have gotten really creative with characters like Gintoki, as he can actually perform a Kamehameha-like attack. This was a joke in an episode of Gintama, where he attempted to do one but failed at it. You can check out the trailer below:

J-Stars Victory VS is in development for the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita. No release date has been announced. There has been no word on a release outside of Japan either,  but remember: both of these systems are region-free, so you can import the game and play it on a non-Japanese system. Anyone out there stalking import gaming websites/stores waiting for a pre-order link to appear?
