Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX

With subtle hints of the game’s localization in progress, it was only a matter of time before it would be officially said and the time has come! Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX is indeed coming to North America and Europe, and no sooner than in the Fall of this year as an exclusive for the PlayStation 3. This HD Collection is a bit special as it contains not just the first game, but the once-exclusive Japanese only Final Mix edition that had extra content, like new enemies, weapons, abilities, cutscenes, missions, bosses, and all the localized content from the western release that the original Japanese release didn’t have. What’s even more, is that this version of Final Mix had some alterations done to have it match more like Kingdom Hearts 2, not completely mind you, just some details like the camera and command menu.

The collection also has Re:Chain of Memories, the remake of the Gameboy Advance title Chain of Memories that was released on the PlayStation 2. It doesn’t stop there! The collection also features the abundance of HD remastered cinematic scenes from Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days within the compilation’s Theater Mode spanning 2 hours and 50 minutes of remastered. Lastly, it will have trophy support for those who are wondering.

So yeah, pretty exciting stuff. Who would have thought that we would some day get the Final Mix version of the original Kingdom Hearts? I sure didn’t! I’m stoked just for that; the rest is a nice bonus though. I know there are those who are disappointed that Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Remix+ wasn’t in the collection, but I think we all know they will get to it one of these days, and if this collection does well, they will surely localize it.
