XSEED’s new rhythm-strategy game Orgarhythm released today for PS Vita! Get ready to beat your opponents to the rhythm of the drums of war.

Fire > Earth > Water > Fire

In Orgarhythm you play as the God of Light, leading your army into battle against your brother, the God of Darkness. The soldiers come in three flavors: Earth (yellow), Fire (red), and Water (blue). Each type is weak to and strong against one other elemental type. Fire > Earth > Water > Fire Each elemental type is further divided into different attack types. Strikers, Archers, Catapults and Sacrifices. The God of Light acts mainly as General, directing the troops, but also has support magic to aid them. His abilities include Heal, Power Boost, Strengthen Defense, Reduce Enemy Speed and one lightning attack.

Orgarhythm relies almost entirely on touch controls. Tap to the beat of the music to gain soldiers. Tap on screen to select soldiers for deployment and drag a line where you want to place them. A long line means more soldiers are sent to battle, and a shorter line means less. The God of Light’s support abilities only affect the troops you drag your finger over when casting. If you still aren’t sure how exactly to Orgarhythm, take a look at the video down below.

Orgarhythm has 12 crazy levels, leading up to bosses of titanic proportions. These bosses have the ability to switch their elemental type in combat, so you’d better be quick when trying to take one of these colossi down! And if you think 12 levels isn’t enough, have no fear. There are plans to release DLC of fan-created music, and an AI that will change tactics on levels you’ve played before, giving tons of replayability.

In addition to the single-player campaign, Orgarhythm boasts co-op and versus modes for up to 2 players. The online leaderboard rankings guarantee that even when you’re playing alone, you’re playing against the rest of the world. Do you have what it takes to be the best, like no one ever was?

Orgarhythm is $29.99, with a demo on the way. Keep your eyes out for our review here on Oprainfall.
