Trine 2, the stunning multiplayer puzzle/platformer, will be getting an update soon. As if the enhanced Wii U edition wasn’t already the definitive version of the game, Frozenbyte has revealed their plans to release a December update that will include voice chat for multiplayer, support for Pro Controllers, and more languages both in-game and for the electronic manual. However, the developer has since clarified that players will need headset with a separate microphone (http://www NULL.youtube NULL.com/watch?v=t-wzG14VZd0&list=UUj2hiSQeR13FeI3lIxCvbmA&index=1&feature=plcp) – the Gamepad will not work for voice chat.

The developer has also stated that multiplayer should be possible between North America and Europe.

The Wii U version of the game includes the original game, the Goblin Menace expansion, and a Wii U specific level, Dwarven Caverns, for a total of twenty stages. Even though all versions of the game are absolutely gorgeous, the developer did mention that the Wii U version is using “slightly higher graphics settings” than the other consoles.

Minor Miiverse support is something the developer is looking into, but can’t promise at this time.

Look for our review of the game to be coming soon. Trine 2: Director’s Cut is available digitally on the Wii U eShop for $19.99 (US).
