The indie Celeste has crossed 500,000 units sold in 2018 across all platforms since January, developer Matt Thorson confirmed. That total includes units sold across Nintendo Switch (the most popular platform), PS4, Xbox One, Steam, Linux, and Mac.

As a show of appreciation to fans, a series of more difficult “farewell levels” will be added to the game in early 2019, as will other updates from the game.

This is the latest success for the indie darling Celeste, which has won several Game of the Year awards from multiple outlets and critics, including the Games for Impact at this year’s Game Awards 2018.

In addition to the farewell levels, the console versions of Celeste will see the Variants mode patched in that’s already available to PC players, and Limited Run Games will publish a physical version for PS4 and Nintendo Switch.
