Well guys, it’s Thursday, which means time for another Nintendo Download. This week may not be as interesting to me as the past few, but there’s still a great and diverse assortment of games, including one I never thought I’d see on a Nintendo console. Additionally, there’s some good sales, new activities and an assortment of worthy new digital contenders. Let’s see what’s worth playing!

Nintendo Download | Dark Souls: Remastered

I’ll be the first to admit I’m not sold on the appeal of brutally hard games (other than brutally hard platformers and twin-stick shooters), but many folks absolutely love them. Which is why it might excite said people that Dark Souls: Remastered is coming out tomorrow. Besides now featuring amiibo integration and Nintendo Switch Online features, this remake also has the main game plus DLC quest Artorias of the Abyss. Not a bad value for fans old and new. If you’re more interested in something strange, how about a party game full of angry cubes? That is none other than Zarvot, with a name as strange as the premise. This is a truly peculiar concept, so if you’re hankering for something weird, you can check Zarvot out starting today.

Nintendo Download | SINNER

If you’re looking for a couple ways to maximize your gaming, you can try out the following activities.

  • Luigi’s Mansion My Nintendo Platinum Points – Can you help Luigi find the FOUR hidden Boos on the Luigi’s Mansion website? You can earn 25 My Nintendo Platinum Points* for each Boo you find.
  • Nintendo Account Linking Event! –You can redeem 300 Platinum Points within My Nintendo before 11 p.m. PT on Oct. 22 for 20 Leaf Tickets that can be used in the Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp app!

Nintendo Download | Black Bird

It wouldn’t be a true Nintendo Download without some savings, so here are the latest sales worth checking out. If you love classic and beautiful games, you owe it to yourself to try out Okami HD (Switch) for $14.99; to cook off with friends, Overcooked 2 (Switch) is a good option for $19.99; if you love some robot goodness, both Mega Man X Legacy Collection (Switch) and X Legacy Collection 2 (Switch) are on sale individually for $14.99; for something quirky, you might enjoy Alchemic Jousts (Switch) for $7.99; to blast some possessed waifus, you definitely want to try Gal*Gun 2 (Switch) for $29.99; horror fans should try out Layers of Fear: Legacy (Switch) for $13.99; if you love great indies, check out Aegis Defenders (Switch) for $10.99; if you want to try something unique, Gunhouse (Switch) is half off at $7.49; for a huge discount, Perception (Switch) is down to $7.99; for Metroidvania goodness, there’s always Axiom Verge (Wii U, Switch) for $16.99; for simple, portable fun, you might like Cooking Mama: Sweet Shop (3DS) for $14.99; or for console life support, you might enjoy ACE – Alien Cleanup Elite (Wii U) for $3; or maybe you’d prefer platforming mayhem in Gravity+ (Wii U) for $4.20; and lastly, for a dark and devious romp, you should try out Darkest Dungeon (Switch) for $18.74. Nintendo Download | Windjammers

Finally, let’s gloss over the newest digital offerings. The first two are coming out next week. One is classic game Windjammers, now coming to the Switch with new features and HD menus. The other is a game that’s technically out now, called Just Shapes & Beats. But the demo version is out next week, for those who want to try before you buy. With those out of the way, let’s see what’s out this week.

Nintendo Download | Count Bout

For some retro goodness, you might want to check out ACA NEOGEO Count Bout and Spencer. For atmospheric adventures, there’s The RoomThe MISSING and Syberia 3. For quirky pixelated games, you might enjoy The Legend of Evil and Black Bird. For some games with compelling stories, you have WILL: A Wonderful World and Valkyria Chronicles. If you like odd games, there’s a trio for you this week – Momonga Pinball, I Hate Running Backwards and Pizza Titan Ultra. And if you are a masochist, you’ll absolutely love SINNER: Sacrifice for Redemption, which is like Dark Souls on steroids.

Nintendo Download | Momonga Pinball

Not a bad assortment this week. Thanks as always for checking with us, and be sure to tune in to oprainfall next week for more Download. And special thanks to Brodie Dayton-Mills for the fantastic new Featured Image!
