Episode 01: Ancient Ninja Water Guns

Oprainfall Plays is back!

This time we’re tackling the wet and wild Third-Person Shooter that is Senran Kagura: Peach Beach Splash.

In this first episode, we play through the opening tutorial and learn just what our favorite shinobi girls have gotten themselves into.

Additional Thoughts and Notes

As I mentioned in our interview with Kenichiro Takaki, a Third-Person Shooter is not exactly what I expected when it comes to Senran Kagura. However, the goal of this game was to try something new and make something special for the overseas fans. In that regard, I think it’s already a success.

Gameplaywise, the mechanics are forgiving enough so someone like me can play it. The auto-aim is a lifesaver and the “Soaking Wet Powerup” ensures that even if I shoot my own team, I’m still helpful. So far, the story is classic Senran Kagura so that I’m happy with. Though I still can’t help but laugh at the fact this is a tradition.
