Sword Art Online: Ordinal Scale | Key Visual

At the Dengeki Autumn Festival 2016, a new trailer forĀ Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal Scale was shown. Along with the trailer, a new key visual was revealed (shown above). The trailer introduces three new characters and gives more insight into the story of the film. You can check that trailer out below.

The three new characters are:

Yuna, the Diva of Ordinal Scale

Based on the trailer, it appears Kirito is having a tough time adjusting to the new environment featured in Ordinal Scale. In AR games, he must use his actual body when fighting battles now. This means he’s not as agile as he usually is in Full Dive games.

Sword Art Online The Movie: Ordinal ScaleĀ takes place after the Mother’s Rosario arc. It has an original story written by light novel author, Reki Kawahara. Unlike previous arcs in the series, the story will not take place in a VRMMO environment. The game this time is set within an ARMMO environment. This means, the players use their actual bodies’ to play the game.

The film is set to premiere in Japan on February 18, 2016. Theater details for the US will come at a later date.
