Splatoon’s newest game type has players vying over a mobile tower.
Just in time for the upcoming Splatfest, Splatoon is getting the new ranked game type Tower Control tomorrow evening. This game type will have players fighting for control of a mobile tower, with an Inkling having to stand on top of the tower in order to move it. Nintendo’s Treehouse demoed the game type during a livestream today, in which they also unveiled a brand new map, Moray Tower. The new map takes play on a high tower divided into several elevated platforms, and will feature a new level of verticality not seen in other Splatoon maps.
Tower Control will be available in Splatoon via Ranked Battles on July 1st at 7:00 p.m. PT/10:00 p.m. ET. No release date was given for Moray Tower, but the Treehouse crew stated it was “coming soon.”
