Xenoblade X 23

During today’s Nintendo Treehouse Live Stream, they revealed some of voice acting of Xenoblade X, specifically for Elma and Lyn. Its noted that this is a work in progress so the lip synching will be off. You can watch it below.

Personally, I feel that Lyn’s is close to what I had in my head; Elma’s is a good bit farther off :p
Also, I’ve just heard them in japanese for so long that it’s just awkward atm to hear them in English

    • MusubiKazesaru

I feel the same way with the Doll vs Skell naming and Fire Emblem’s jp title vs the english one.

  • MusubiKazesaru

I thought Lynlee sounded pretty good around what I’d hoped for her, though Elma was a bit stiff but not too bad. I think she actually was the one voicing the prologue in that one trailer we got where nobody liked how she sounded though. One issue I have though is how the music stops when you make a decision and it feels a bit off.

Yeah the abrupt stop with the decision box is a bit annoying lol

    • Anthony Yousef

Now that I’ve watched it over 2 or 3 times, Elma’s va sorta got a tsundere approach. I mean it’s still off, and I know that the audio is off atm so we can’t fully take everything as is

    • blackice85

Agreed, I think her character is supposed to be a bit cold/serious. And of course take into account that such things tend to be a bit exaggerated when acted out. But it’s good so far IMO, nothing scary that will make you want to mute the game lol.

  • blackice85

Those are actually pretty good, at least based on that small sample. I’m relieved they’re doing a good job so far, especially after the high bar they set with the previous game.

The English Voice Acting is good. Not amazing voice acting, but thankfully its not terrible. I would be fine with the voice acting as it is now.

  • Alex

Can we still have Cockney robots?

    • Hogtree Octovish

      Yeah.
I know this game is primarily set in a futuristic copy of Los Angeles, but I hope they’re going to have some British characters.
Maybe get the cast from the first Xenoblade to make a cameo or two, even if it’s just as DLC.
