Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition - Box Art | oprainfall

GungHo Online Entertainment has announced that they will be releasing Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition for the Nintendo 3DS. And, according to a tweet from the official North American Puzzle & Dragons account, the game will be heading West.

The puzzle-based RPG made the move from mobile platforms to Nintendo’s handheld system in December 2013 with Puzzle & Dragons Z, which paved the way for Nintendo to allow a crossover with their iconic Mushroom Kingdom residents. This wouldn’t be the first time Puzzle & Dragons has been mixed with another franchise as an Evangelion-themed crossover was released back in March of 2014.

The game will have local multiplayer and feature StreetPass capabilities. Check out the game’s official trailer below:

Puzzle & Dragons: Super Mario Bros. Edition will be released in Japan on April 29. It will be available for both retail and digital download at a cost of 4,000 yen (approximately $34). A Western release date has yet to be determined.
