At the Arc System Works Fighting Game Awards in Japan, the developer released a deluge of new information about BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, including the release date, total character count, information about the limited edition, and a new character. The game will release on May 25, 2018 in Japan and Asia, and June 5 worldwide, on PS4, Switch and Steam.
Much of the information about the game comes through a new trailer showing off the announced characters, which you can watch on YouTube courtesy of Persona Central below, or a cleaner version on Niconico:
The trailer goes through the 20 previously announced characters, before revealing that there will be 40 characters in the game in total, including DLC. It then ends by showing off the first DLC character to be revealed, RWBY’s Blake Belladonna.
More information came out through a series of posts on the official Arc System Works site. One of these was the DLC plans for the game. There will be a total of 20 DLC characters, which will release in a series of three-character sets, bookended by single characters. The first of these single characters will be Blake. There will also be an “All-in-One Pack” including all 20 characters. The release system is as follows:

None of the DLC release dates or prices have been revealed yet.
BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will also have a special edition available in Japan at launch. The special edition will come in a special box with collaboration art by Arc System Works’ Toshimichi Mori, Atlus’ Shigenori Soejima, French-Bread’s Seiichi Yoshihara, and Rooster Teeth’s Ein Lee. It will include the All-in-One Pack, an art book, and an acrylic standy for the PS4 or a storage pouch for the Switch.
BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle will be playable at Evo Japan on January 26-27, featuring all 20 characters in the base game.
