English Subtitles | Tales of Hearts R

Bandai Namco UK tweeted some info regarding Tales of Hearts R, one of the many upcoming entries in the Tales series. According to their tweet, the game will feature Japanese voice-overs and English subtitles. Whether this means the dialogue will be Japanese-only or there will be an English dub, as well, is unclear.

Tales of Hearts R will come out for the PS Vita in winter 2014. It is available for pre-order as a GameStop exclusive.

So far, Europe is confirmed to have Japanese audio only.

  • NO WAY, We can’t have just Japanese audio only, we need English audio as well to make it a dual audio system, ya get it! 🙁

    • Keichi Morisato

it’s one or the other really… having both audio is incredibly expensive, mostly because localizing the Japanese audio is more expensive than doing english only. so having both is often times impractical.

    • Only if you believe it is.
As for me, however, i think that it’s not impractical because the tales franchise has always had dual audio for as long as i can remember, and it would be very disappointing if they don’t have that added to the option’s menu, so wouldn’t you feel the same way, i mean, if a game you really want but doesn’t have a dual audio setting added? :-/

    • Keichi Morisato

for as long as I remember only 1 game has gotten dual audio, and that was at the cost of added voice acting to the game, and that was Tales of Symphonia HD.

    • True, but this game had just been released for only about 4 months ago, and yet that’s not just this game that has this setting, there are others that has this like tales of the abyss, tales of legendia, and more, etc.
      get the picture! 🙂

    • Keichi Morisato

i own every Tales games, and only the 1 Tales of Symphonia HD has dual audio. i think we live in two difference regions, as i live in the US, and likely you live in Europe.

    • Oh no, i live in the US too, wichita, kansas to be correct.
i’m just totally shocked about tales of hearts R to have only one audio setting in europe. :-O
But i’m actually surprised that you live in the united states as well. :-0
I just that you lived in japan because you name is japanese, ya know? :-/

    • Keichi Morisato

i live in FL, Keiichi Morisato is my favorite character in my favorite manga written and drawn by my favorite Mangaka Kousuke Fujishima (who also has worked on the Tales games). my real name is Vincent LaBan Petersen.

    • Oh, well it’s a pleasure to make your acquaintance Vincent, but man, i can’t believed that you live in FL, you are so lucky man. I hope that someday we’ll become good online friends. 🙂

    • Keichi Morisato

it’s pretty good in the winter time, though it does get really cold down here, just to you, you would think it’s a nice warm morning, but to me i would feel like it was the end of the world and the 4th ice age had come. i hope we could be good online friends too. i found out via facebook, i liked them so i can get their news.

    • Really, that amazing, but i only get news from other pages on via facebook, so if you my on facebook, you can add me to list of friends, if you have the time to do that i mean, i just saying that i have a facebook as well, if you don’t mind me saying cause it was just a thought after all so you don’t have to rush and do that right now, just take your time to do that, ok! 🙂

    • Keichi Morisato
    • Cool, thanks for the link Vincent! 🙂

  • Colin Vance

  • Thanatos2k

    That is…….lazy. Lazy and cheap.

  • Chrome

What does it matter if it has English or Japanese voices? Yeah okay I’d rather it have English but at least we’re getting the game aren’t we? I’d rather have a subtitled version of the game than not have it at all.
Besides, it just says it has Japanese audio with English subtitles, not that it ONLY has that.

  • Yasmin Torpelund Weaver

Already have the Japanese version, but my Japanese reading skills still suuuuuuuuuuck too much at this point to get through it.

This is a must buy for me. Can’t wait. XD
