Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure | oprainfall

After a sixteen year hiatus and a successful Kickstarter campaign back in 2012, the Tex Murphy series is back with Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure. The adventure series was popular for its use of FMVs when the technology was brand new and for having the producer of the game also be the actor who plays Tex Murphy himself.

Tesla Effect: A Tex Murphy Adventure is a sequel to the 1996 game The Pandora Detective. It will feature branching paths, multiple endings and fully explorable 3D environments. It puts Ted Murphy in San Francisco as he attempts to unravel the secrets of Nikola Tesla.

Preordering the game on Steam gets you a 10% discount on the total price, the Tex Murphy Live Jazz soundtrack, and a copy of The Pandora Detective. GOG is offering a 10% discount, the soundtrack for Tesla Effect and a choice of Tex Murphy 1+2, Under a Killing Moon, The Pandora Directive, or Tex Murphy: Overseer.

Created by Big Finish Games and published by ATLUS, Tesla Effect will be released for PC on April 22nd, 2014.

Considering the last game in the series came out in 1998, it gives you some hope for any game you believe deserves a sequel. It also might make you feel a little old.
