Shadow of the Eternals - oprainfall

Precursor Games have officially relaunched their Kickstarter for Shadow of the Eternals after the previous Kickstarter was temporarily canceled last month. The new fundraising goal is $750,000 (USD) which is down significantly from the original $1.3 million they were asking for during the original campaign back in May.

Shadow of the Eternals will be spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness and has many of the same developers from Silicon Knights that worked on the first game. It will be a single-player third-person action adventure game with some significant horror elements. The game is being developed for PC and Wii U, but bringing the game to PlayStation 4 is currently one of their stretch goals. For more details about the gameplay specifics, goals, cast, and more, be sure to visit the Kickstarter page.

Additionally, Operation Rainfall recently had the privilege of speaking with Precursor Games at E3. Be sure to check out our discussion with them, the Downpour Podcast featuring the interview, and Precursor’s thoughts on increasing community involvement. If you’re looking for the short and sweet version, checkout the highlights from the interview.

If you’re on the fence about this project, be sure to check out the trailer below and our editorial, “Why Shadow of the Eternals Matters, and Why You Should Support It.” And if you’re ready to support this project, head over to their Kickstarter page and vote for Shadow of the Eternals on Steam Greenlight!

  • James Best

Let’s hope this one actually gets the funding.

  • Eric Taylor

Maybe you should talk a little bit about WHY the first kickstarter didn’t get enough funding. Namely, that it’s a disingenuous attempt to re-brand Silicon Knights and Dennis Dyack after both lost all their credulity.

    • Because no one need this game, that’s all.

      Go home, you are drunk.

  • multibottler0cket

One day, I am going to make a video game trailer that has gameplay in it.

  • Don’t fall for it

Said it before, will say it again.

They shut down the Kickstarter because it was going to fail, so they lied about why they pulled it. Now they’re back, hand out again, begging for your cash. These are the people who stole code from Epic and lied about it. These are the people who made Too Human and then insulted anyone who pointed out how shitty it was. The people who fleeced money from Activision to finance their Eternal Darkness 2 trailers while they were supposed to be making X-Men Destiny. They have a long history of cancelled and incomplete projects.

Thieves and trolls, hoping for one last scam – their target this time is you. Will you fall for it?
