zero escape 3

In case you haven’t heard, the critically acclaimed Zero Escape series is getting a third volume, according to its creator Kotaro Uchikoshi. The upcoming project, currently known only as Zero Escape 3, will take place between the surprise 2009 hit Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors and its sequel, Virtue’s Last Reward, one of last year’s best handheld games. Those of us who’ve finished the previous Zero Escape volumes aren’t surprised by this particular announcement. Why, you ask? And what do the quotes around “between” in this article’s title mean? That would be telling. You’ll have to play the previous two games in the series for yourself to find out. No spoilers in the comments, please.

Expect more puzzling action and dizzying twists in yet another Nonary Game in Zero Escape 3 when it arrives soon. No release date has been set as of yet, but we’ll keep you posted.

About Guy Rainey

I’m Guy Rainey. I’m a hardcore Nintendo fan, a PC enthusiast, and a Sony sympathizer. Also an amateur/aspiring game creator. I love any game that puts story as the main focus of the game, so that means JRPGs are my favorite genre almost by default.

  • Sweet I really need to get into this series xD I hope it will be for 3DS again which is most likely but still

  • But the main question is, will the 3DS version have an enormous game-breaking glitch?

  • I was lucky finding a copy of 999 recently (though I haven’t 100% it), hope to get into the sequel soon enough.

it’s not surprise, if you played the game you find out that: (SPOILER ALERT)

VLR takes place like a 100 years after 999 and that Sigma and Phi have to travel to the past in order to stop Radical 6 so it makes perfect sense, in fact it just shows you haven’t played the game to its conclusion

    • Hey now, what did I say about spoilers in the comments! (SPOILER ALERT)
Yes, I finished it. But remember, the way Akane explained it, even with all the time travel, the path of the series is still basically 1, 2, 3. So even though 3 takes place before 2, it still takes place “after” 2. Wrap your head around that.

If you’ve played 999 and not finished it, you have no excuse. It takes less than 9 hours to get every ending and the game’s so gripping, how could you put it down mid-playthrough? >_>’

  • Uchikoshi’s had this confirmed on Twitter since the game released…

  • David E Sanchez

I sincerely hope they release it for the vita also, I was hooked on Virtue’s Last Reward and I’m really looking forward to playing the sequel, especially after the cliffhanger hard mode ending.
