There’s a lot to look forward to on the PlayStation Store this week, with new games and deals galore pleading for your hard-earned cash.

To kick things off, Sony’s action-packed prequel in the God of War saga, God of War: Ascension, releases both digitally and at retail, complete with a story that kicks off six months after the death of Kratos’ family and 8-player multiplayer for your enjoyment. Capcom’s supernatural fighter, Darkstalkers: Resurrection, releases in a two-game bundle that includes Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge and Darkstalkers 3 in spruced up high-definition with GGPO netcode, in-game achievements, and more. To round out the new releases, two PSN exclusives are set to launch, with Psych Yourself and Puzzle By Nikoli V: Sudoku, the latter of which is for the Vita. In addition, two titles are getting the digital treatment, with Tecmo-Koei’s Quantum Theory and Mastiff’s military shooter, Heavy Fire: Shattered Spear, ready to download straight to your PS3.

You can also look forward to several new demos, with EA’s Army of Two: The Devil’s Cartel, Fuel Overdose, Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor’s Edge, and Darkstalkers: Resurrection for you to take for a spin. A Koei classic, Kessen II, will be the lone PlayStation 2 classic this week, but if you’re interested in PSOne Imports, there are a whopping seven titles for you to check out. These include:

  • Favorite Dear: Enkan no Monogatari
  • First Queen IV
  • Mahjong Uranai Fortuna: Tukino Megamitachi
  • Motorhead: High Velocity Entertainment
  • Rung Rung: Oz no Mahou Tsukai
  • Sentimental Graffiti
  • Trump Shiyouyo! (Fukkoku Ban)

If you’re new to the Scott Pilgrim party, you can download the Scott Pilgrim VS The World Ultimate Edition, which includes the full game as well as both DLC packs, for $14.99, with a 20% discount for Plus subscribers, as well. Speaking of PlayStation Plus, if you’re looking to expand your Instant Game Collection, then you’re in luck! Joe Danger 2: The Movie will be available free of charge to all subscribers starting this week, so get ready to let your inner stuntman loose.

To round things out, if there have been any Ubisoft titles you have been eying up lately, then the PlayStation Store is the place to be this week. Sentimental Graffiti FTW. Hope it gets the localization ball rolling and people bring over more visual novels. As for almost all the rest: so much end of fiscal year fire sale…
