Crunchyroll just announced that they will be releasing their own application on Xbox LIVE. While the application has been available for some time on devices such as iPhone, Android, Kindle Fire and the PS3 (in certain countries), premium members of Crunchyroll will now finally be able to stream their favourite anime series on their Xbox 360 as well.

No launch date has been revealed yet.  However, the application will be available (in English) in “more than 30 territories across six continents”. Hopefully this means the PS3 version will receive a boost in availability too, as it has yet to be released in Europe among other places.

We’ll keep you updated when more information is available.

  • John Ellis

I really want the PS3 version to come to Europe so I can watch the new series of Gintama on TV.

    • It should come to Europe soon or later, after all there’s a market for anime/manga in the PAL region so it only makes sense.

  • Okay so moment of idiocy when I realized I didn’t know what Crunchyroll was… and that they actually work with my Google TV

  •  And like all other features on the 360, you’ll likely need Live regardless if you’re already paying for subscriptions involving them. Best sticking with the other versions, which don’t force you to have pay for a subscription to use something you’re already paying for.
