The recent news that console owners would have to wait a bit for the new DLC, while the PC crowd would get it on the release of that version(“Prepare to Die” Edition) upset the community. Thankfully, Namco Bandai has released new screenshots along with the  official announcement for the release date for the “Artorias of the Abyss” add-on for Dark Souls, which is October 23, 2012. So it seems us console owners won’t have to wait too long afterall.

The DLC will come with an entire new area to explore, several new bosses/enemies, new items, new weapons (both regular and boss weapons), new armor, new NPCs that fans have been waiting to see for awhile (the rest of Gywn’s 4 knights for example), and the balance issues with PVP will be addressed.

It will be available for both PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 owners, and at the cost of $14.99 on PSN, while on Xbox Live it will be charged at 1200 Microsoft Points.
