Anarchy Reigns, the sort-of-crossover-brawler made by Platinum Games, was supposed to be released earlier this year. It was delayed to the summer of this year. Now, it has been delayed again to the first quarter of 2013; in North America and Europe, at least.

Previously, Platinum Games announced via Twitter that the release date for the game had been changed to “TBC”, which is corporate for “I dunno”. When questioned about this on Twitter, Sega’s American branch replied “The release of Anarchy Reigns has been re-evaluated. We can now expect to launch in Europe and America in Q1 2013.”

The game is set for a Japanese release on July 5th of this year. Oddly enough the Japanese version, which is region-locked, is already completely localized in English, French, Italian, and Spanish.

About Kyle Emch

Kyle has been studying music at college for about three years now. He's played the piano since he was 6 years old and has been recently been learning how to write music. He has followed the Operation Rainfall movement on Facebook since it started and was happy to volunteer for the website. Just don't mention Earthbound or the Mother franchise around him.

Well at least we’re getting it. I was getting worried that it wouldn’t leave Japan. However, being pushed to 2013 is pretty disappointing, especially given the fact that it has already been localized and is ready for release. I know Sega wants to release it at a time when none of the big games are coming out, so why not do it this year in either July, August, or September? The only big console game coming out during these months in Madden, which I see as more of a game for the masses rather than typical gamers. And now the biggest game that Sega has left for 2012 is arguably Sonic Racing Transformed, which isn’t saying much.
