Like me, you were probably hoping to see what Retro Studios was working on at this year’s E3. And, like me, you were probably incredibly disappointed when you got a big pile of nothing. Hate to make you even more depressed, but don’t expect any info to come out for a while.

IGN recently interviewed Reggie Fils-Aime about the Wii U. When asked about the status of Retro Studios’ next game, the Meat Man said that we shouldn’t expect any new info on it anytime soon.

“… if I disclosed what Retro is doing, I would have the president of Retro literally calling me right now saying, ‘Reggie, what are you doing?’ We love that people are interested. We love surprising people. I remember getting the questions before we announced Donkey Kong Country Returns. And I loved unveiling that. So… Rest assured, the team is hard at work. But I’m not gonna tell you what they’re working on.”

Hopefully we’ll see Retro Studios’ latest work at next year’s E3.

About Kyle Emch

Kyle has been studying music at college for about three years now. He's played the piano since he was 6 years old and has been recently been learning how to write music. He has followed the Operation Rainfall movement on Facebook since it started and was happy to volunteer for the website. Just don't mention Earthbound or the Mother franchise around him.

  • If we have to wait until next E3 for something from Retro that would suck.  I would expect to see something from them shortly after WiiU launch.

  • Now I am a bit more at rest over for Reggie, thanks man.

Hope the next E3 will be an awesome one.

This year’s E3 was an Awesome one! Get outta here!

    • I have an opinion. Live with it.

    • V

Firstly, NintendoLand was friggin’ amazing. Second, go and tell Reggie what you think of Nintendo’s conference; I hope he, Miyamoto and Iwata collectively kick your anti-Nintendo ass on the spot.

    • V

That’s right, tell Miyamoto your “opinions” – you wouldn’t dare, cause you’re nothing more than a liar and a coward. Now, go troll some Xbox website, and stop pretending to be a Nintendo fan, ta-ta.

    • please explain, in detail, how Yasmine is a ‘liar’ and a ‘coward’.

  • MagmarFire

Disappointing, yes, but as an up-and-coming member of the game development industry, I understand that non-disclosure agreements are not things to be breaking.

Let’s be patient, guys! We’ll get that announcement eventually!

They could have at least teased it, a piece of nondescript concept art, anything would have been better than acting like it didn’t exist.
