XSEED has announced today the release date for the fourth installment of the, “oh so strange” series that is the Way of the Samurai. Way of the Samurai 4 will be available on August 21, 2012 exclusively on the PlaySation Network for a digital release.
Developer Aquire continues to improve on the series with each iteration, and while numbered, they aren’t connected story wise. The fourth title is based around the year of 1855 in the port city of Amihama where you decide to ally between three forces: the Pro-Government forces, the anti-government rebels wanting to bar foreigners from entering, and the British Navy stationed here hoping to negotiate the peace treaty. The beauty of this series is there really is no wrong way to play, its quirkiness gives it a certain charm you can’t help, but give a gander. Your own created samurai can look and act the way you want, equipping he or she with a plethora of a wide variety of weapons.
