If you are a rabid fan of Renegade Kid, like me or our own Jonathan Higgins, then today is probably a good day for you. Why? Simply put, because today Renegade Kid regained the rights to one of their most underrated, atmospheric shooters, Moon. Released back in 2009 exclusively for the DS, it received its fair share of criticisms and approval alike; but I personally thought it was fantastic. The game utilized that claustrophobic, mysterious vibe from such games as Metroid, but with an original plot, great graphics, and accurate FPS shooting. Moon had been published by Mastiff games, but they had an agreement with Jools Watsham and Renegade Kid that they only retained the rights to it for 5 years. Now that we’re in 2014, Moon officially belongs with the people who developed it.

More interesting is the fact that today Jools and company trademarked a new title called Moon Chronicles. On the heels of Renegade Kid’s announcement of a new FPS game, this could be the long awaited and deserved sequel to Moon gamers like me have been waiting for. Granted, it could also be something simple like a 3DS remake to the game, but, either way, I am officially excited. Add that to the fact that Treasurenauts and Cult County might be coming out sometime this year, and 2014 is looking aces for Renegade Kid!
