Mighty No. 9 | oprainfall

It’s been a wild ride in the roughly two weeks since Mega Man godfather, Keiji Inafune, and Comcept announced their plans to develop a new project entitled Mighty No. 9. A spiritual successor to the original Blue Bomber, fans have been clamoring for more, donating millions of dollars to the game’s Kickstarter. Reaching the initial goal of $900,000 in only one day, money continues to flow in to reach the game’s continued stretch goals. Speaking of which, another major milestone has been reached.

Mighty No. 9 - Console

Originally only planned for a PC release, the stretch goals for Mac and Linux version were quickly surpassed, and now, Mighty No. 9 will be coming to home consoles. The promised $2.2 million goal was reached yesterday, meaning that the game will now be seeing Wii U, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 releases.

With another two weeks to go, there is still plenty of time for fans to donate enough to reach the remaining stretch goals, including a challenge mode, extra stages, co-op, and PS4/Xbox One releases. While pulling in another million dollars might be a lofty goal, the fanbase behind this project has been shown to be nothing if not up to the task.
