Ever since a listing for something called the Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection was spotted on a Korean ratings board, there have been rumors swirling around as to what the collection will contain and where it will see release. Thankfully, Konami has finally made an official announcement to clear things up.
The Metal Gear Solid: The Legacy Collection has been confirmed for the PlayStation 3 console, and will include six games, including: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid 3: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker: HD Edition, Metal Gear Solid: VR Missions and Metal Gear Solid 4: Trophy Edition.
Is that enough Metal Gear for you? If not, you’re in luck, because the collection will also include two digital graphic novels by Ashley Wood.
The Legacy Collection will be released in North and South America this June, which comes just in time to celebrate the Metal Gear franchise’s 25th birthday. Tomoyuki Tsuboi, Konami’s president of Digital Entertainment, had this to say regarding the collection:
We wanted to give Metal Gear Solid fans the opportunity to experience the series from beginning to end, all on one console. With the collection’s multiple titles, players can truly see how Metal Gear Solid evolved into the critically acclaimed and beloved franchise it is today.
