Starting off with a bang in this morning’s Nintendo Direct, Satoru Iwata revealed a new crossover title that will be coming to the Wii U. Tentatively titled Hyrule Warriors, the game mixes aspects of The Legend of Zelda franchise with that of Tecmo Koei’s Warriors franchise. While this is an all-new game for the console, Iwata noted to fans that this is not the upcoming core Zelda title we’ve been hearing hints about since earlier in the year — and even assumed would be coming since the announcement of the Wii U.
This isn’t the first crossover that Nintendo has been a part of. Heck, this isn’t even the first crossover Nintendo has been a part of that was announced this year. As you might remember, a crossover between the Atlus franchise Shin Megami Tensei and Nintendo franchise Fire Emblem will be coming in the near future.
Hyrule Warriors (Working Title) will be coming in 2014 to all regions. Stay tuned for more information about the game as it is revealed. For now, check out the teaser trailer for the game. Also, be sure to check out our Nintendo Direct recap to see what else was announced.
