Looking for a reason to get into Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl for the 3DS? How about a sale? The Nintendo eShop has put the digital version of Millennium Girl on sale for $19.99 while the retail version remains at full price. The discount ends on January 27th.
Etrian Odyssey Untold: The Millennium Girl is both a remake and a port of the original Etrian Odyssey. Players can choose to play either the Classic mode or the Story mode. The Classic mode is simply the original Etrian Odyssey modified with additions such as StreetPass functionality, 3D graphics, and other gameplay features.
Story mode is Etrian Odyssey with a storyline integrated into the adventure. The series has never had a plotline before. It tells the story of the eponymous Millennium Girl, Frederica. This gunslinger has lost her memories and has gone on an expedition to learn about her past. Your character joins her and her entourage on their quest.
The Etrian Odyssey series is a series of first-person 3D dungeon crawlers, with gameplay inspired by classic Western RPGs like Wizardry and The Bard’s Tale. Players must form a guild of adventurers and venture deep into various dungeons and labyrinths. Like the games mentioned above, the game does not provide a map, and so players must draw their own, which is done on the touchscreen. The series has become known for its challenging but rewarding gameplay, offering a unique experience on the DS and 3DS.
