DuckTales Remastered, the upcoming Disney title developed by WayForward and published by Capcom, is now set for release on Wii U, PlayStation Network and PC on August 13 for $14.99. The game will also be available on Xbox Live Arcade about a month later on September 11. In addition to this digital release, Capcom is also releasing an exclusive boxed edition for PS3 which includes a download code for the game and a DuckTales collector’s pin. This edition will be available at select retailers for $19.99.
Originally announced at PAX East back in March, DuckTales Remastered is a complete remake of the 1989 NES action platformer. Featuring hand-drawn graphics, as well as voice acting performed by the cast of the original cartoon show, the game looks to be even bigger and better than the original. All of the levels from the original game have been reworked with better graphics, updated music, and environments painted by artists from the original show. In addition, DuckTales Remastered will include new levels created especially for this game, further increasing its playability. Whereas the original game was fairly bare bones in its presentation, Remastered will have cutscenes interwoven with its gameplay, creating a more cohesive story, and allowing the voice actors to really show off their talents.
In addition to this great news, Capcom has also released a short “duckumentary” to get us all excited for the upcoming release. Enjoy!
