Over here at Operation Rainfall last month, we showcased some screenshots and exciting information regarding Nippon Ichi Software’s upcoming sidescroller RPG, Battle Princess of Arcadia. Now, we’re getting our first look at the PlayStation 3 game’s central cast of characters. Read on to meet everyone!
Plume
|
Plume is princess of the Schwert Kingdom, one of three kingdoms that makes up the continent of Weltecs. Each kingdom has its own Battle Princess to protect it from monsters- a task Plume takes on gladly. Her cheery demeanor has endeared her to the citizens of her kingdom, and she’s beloved by all. Her weapon of choice seems to be a one-handed sword- but the game boasts a menagerie of over 900 different weapons, so perhaps she’ll be branching out on her adventures. Her specialty is close-range combo attacks. |
Larts
|
Larts is Plume’s attendant, and it’s his job to serve her both in and out of battle. He’s just as taken with her as the rest of the kingdom, and seems determined to help her accomplish whatever she sets out to do. He’s a kind, quiet boy who prefers using a bow to fight. His specialty in battle is attacking from distances and varied heights. |
Yuni
|
Yuni is a childhood friend of Plume’s. She’s not so crazy about Larts, though, and doesn’t seem to trust him. She has a foul mouth, despite her cute appearance, making her a force to be reckoned with. She works in the castle as an “Industrial Artist,” meaning it’s her job to repair items around the castle or create things for the King. Her preferred weapon is a staff, and she uses magic to fight. |
Shiguto
|
Believe it or not, this goose is both the king of Schwert and Plume’s older brother. He wasn’t born a goose, but the circumstances of his transformation are a mystery at the moment. He has a good relationship with his younger sister. Unfortunately, it’s said that kings in Weltecs inherit diseases from previous generations of rulers, and, therefore, never rule for long. Here’s hoping that Shiguto can buck the trend. |
Battle Princess of Arcadia will be released in Japan on September 26. There’s no news of a Western release as of yet.
