It seems that gamers who wish to play Capcom’s Ace Attorney trilogy on their iOS or Android devices will have to wait a bit longer for the opportunity. Fans curious about the status of the Ace Attorney 123 HD collection started a series of topics on the Capcom forums. Christian Svensson, senior vice president of Capcom USA, replied with the following:
For reasons unknown to me, the release has slid another several months to July. Sorry guys.
In another thread, Svennson was able to elaborate more on the situation, citing issues with the team developing the game in Japan:
I’d hate to say it, this is the mobile team in Japan playing with dates for what they deem will work best in their market. Sadly, this is not an area we have had any degree of control.
The Ace Attorney 123 HD collection, containing Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Phoenix Wright: Justice for All, and Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations, originally had an unofficial April release, but hopefully this July release will pan out.
It wasn’t all bad news today, however, as Svennson went on to discuss the state of Ace Attorney 5:
AA5 is coming along great. I saw a build last month when I was in Osaka. We’ll have some news for Western fans in the not so distant future (we know you want to know and we know you know the Japan dates). Hang in there…
Could a US release date be forthcoming? With the Japanese version of the game set for release on July 25, we can only hope that we’ll be seeing Ace Attorney 5 over here soon enough.
A new trailer for Ace Attorney 5 has also cropped up, showing off some of the game’s new features, including the addition of 3D crime scene investigation:
There’s lots of new Ace Attorney information to discuss; are we getting excited yet?
