Square Enix has announced that Bravely Default II will arrive on Steam on Thursday, September 2nd. Fans can nab the RPG for 10% off from launch through September 13th. Until now, the game was exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. PC players will now get their chance to dive into the adventure late next week. The press release also says the Steam version includes controller support. It has both English and Japanese audio support, plus the following language options for text:
- English
- French
- German
- Italian
- Japanese
- Korean
- Simplified or Traditional Chinese
- Spanish
Alongside the new story, Bravely Default II also features music from Revo, who returns from the original game. Players can customize their party via the job system, and utilize the Brave and Default systems. Brave Points are spent to perform an action, limiting how many a character can do per turn. Conversely, characters can choose to default to save their points for a subsequent turn instead. Each character also has primary and secondary job classes, each of which provides specialization in certain abilities.
Jump into the epic Bravely Default II adventure with Seth, Gloria, Elvis, and Adelle. The land of Excillant is a place where great risk can be rewarding. The Heroes of Light will take on turn-based battles and tricky bosses while combining jobs and abilities to overcome them. It pays to use the job system to your advantage, particularly against formidable foes. All the while, the heroes are searching for the stolen elemental crystals (fire, earth, water, and wind).
The main character, Seth, is a young sailor who drifted to the continent before meeting the exiled Princess Gloria. Her kingdom, Musa, once maintained harmony in the world. However, the theft of its crystals led it to ruin and forced Gloria into hiding. Meanwhile, Adelle is a mercenary for hire and serves as a bodyguard to the scholar Elvis. He is in search of an asterisk needed for the last spellbook left behind by his master. It seems fate has now called upon them as Bravely Default II‘s Heroes of Light, but can you help them overcome the trials ahead?
