Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water joins the ranks of Wii U titles to see a rerelease for the Nintendo Switch, but it’s not stopping there. Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water is going multi-platform.
First released in Japan in 2014 and North America a year later, Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water was the fifth main installment in Koei Tecmo’s survival horror franchise, Fatal Frame. The game follows the story of three different protagonists as they discover the mysteries associated with Mt. Hikami, a sacred mountain haunted by tragedies and malevolent spirits. As you might expect from a Fatal Frame game the protagonists will be armed with a special camera allowing them to capture the images of those spirits that haunt Mt. Hikami.
It probably goes without saying that this remaster will feature revamped visuals, but it will also include a new feature called Photo Mode, where the player will be able to take characters and ghosts and pose them for customized photos, as well as brand new costumes for the characters.
Fatal Frame: Maiden of Black Water will launch later this year for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, XBox One and Series X/S, as well as PC.
