The Lucid Soul Kickstarter campaign has now passed its original funding goal, reaching 102% so far. This is the work of 430+ backers who pledged their support to the classic, top-down, high fantasy, M-rated horror JRPG. With just over a week left in the campaign, and the original goal met, they now set their sites on the next funding tier. To reach it, backers must raise about $25k more, and if that milestone is reached, the following will be added to the game:
- String player gamer Diwa de Leon, who will join the music with his violin and expertise.
- Duet for the soundtrack with Alyssa Gerwig aka SpectroliteAAA.
- A free enamel pin for backers who have pledged $20 or more.
According to the press release, developer Jon Bookout is bringing the game to Steam and itch.io for certain. Note that the game does not yet have a page on itch.io. If further funding milestones are passed, it may get ported to Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X | S, and PlayStation 5 as well.
Lucid Soul sees you step into the shoes of a villain called Scyth and his band of Deathtouched in the world of Trebezia. Gods and Goddesses will try to stand in your way in a story of conquest, but you’re the villain so you’ll find suitable ways to deal with them, won’t you! Enjoy turn-based combat, and retro-styled pixel art anime visuals in 30 or more hours of gameplay.
