Deadeus has now reached the milestone of surpassing 10,000 digital downloads according to their press release! To celebrate the occasion, Independent developer -IZMA- and retro developer/publisher Spacebot Interactive have put out a new cinematic accolades trailer. The 8-bit horror adventure for the GameBoy was developed with Chris Maltby’s GB Studio engine, and featuring music by Stuart Busby. If you want to get a physical copy, then you need to do so before physical pre-orders end on February 15th. Digital copies are available by the developer over at itch.io, and you will of course need a GameBoy emulator to play a digital copy. Without any further ado, here’s that brand new cinematic trailer:
Deadeus can be played on any Gameboy, thanks to the backwards compatibility of the Gameboy Color and Gameboy Advance systems. The standard physical edition is priced at $57.44 (£42 / €46.72), plus postage. You may remember we covered this title a couple of weeks ago when physical pre-orders opened up. Below is a quick story synopsis from that article and some screenshots.
Deadeus is a top-down, retro horror adventure for the Gameboy family of systems. The story follows a young boy who experiences a terrible nightmare one night. It tells him that everyone around him will die in 3 days if nothing is done! He soon finds himself investigating his village to learn more and hopefully find a way to save everyone. Is it even possible? You’ll have to find out in the game! There are 11 different endings, and no direct paths. This means you must create your own path by deciding what you think the best course of action is at each step of the way. Here are some screenshots of Deadeus in action:
