Idea Factory’s latest Iffy-cial website update focuses on the Episode Chart feature in Death end re;Quest 2. Player’s choices can affect the characters residing at Wordsworth, including Rottie, Liliana, and even Mai herself! The Episode Chart feature can help you avoid death ends, which can come about in different ways.
The episode chart allows players to see descriptions of events they’ve previously played. You can also earn rewards for exploring different paths. However, you cannot jump back to previous scenes, as the episode chart is meant as a reference. As such, they recommend that players save frequently so they are well prepared when they hit a death end. You can quick save just before making decisions, which gives you the ability to explore all options in that scene. The game keeps track of which ones you’ve already tried. After a Game Over, you can use your quick save to return to the moment just prior the decision you made.
The press release also takes a moment to apologize for a small miscommunication. They point out that their gameplay screenshot update on 7/23 had an inaccurate statement. That update included the day/night system, and said that a majority of the story events occur during daylight. The press release states that the story is in fact divided between day and night events.
Death end re;Quest 2 is set to launch on Steam on August 18th, which is not far off at all now. The Steam version will also include the original Glitch costumes for the characters from the first game. The characters will only wear these costumes during battle and in the main menu. Subtitles will support English, Japanese, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options. Meanwhile, the physical and digital releases for the PlayStation 4 version in North America and Europe will be happening on August 25th and 28th respectively.
