The 2nd cour broadcast of Sword Art Online: Alicization -War of Underworld- will be postponed due to the spread of COVID-19 in Japan. It was originally scheduled to air starting April 25. Instead, the 1st cour of War of Underworld will air in its place.
Reki Kawahara, the author of the original light novels, said the broadcast was postponed as they could not ensure safe working conditions for the voice actors involved. Even if they started the broadcast as scheduled, it is likely the cour would be interrupted partway.
Sword Art Online: Alicization -War of Underworld- 2nd cour is planned to be broadcast in July 2020 and an exact date and time will be provided at a later time.
