We normally don’t cover much of mobile gaming here at oprainfall, for a couple reasons. One, many mobile entries qualify as shovelware, and two, oftentimes mobile ports often don’t live up to the original game. But I’m sincerely hoping this mobile release bucks the trends, since it’s for one of my favorite games of all time – Castlevania: Symphony of the Night!
It’s no exaggeration to say this Castlevania made me love the series, as well as introducing me to the Metroidvania genre at large. So while I am a bit uncertain about mobile gaming, I really hope this one is amazing. It’s available today via the App Store and Google Play Store. It will feature support for six languages, full controller support, save states and even achievements. Which all sounds very promising. Oh and did I mention it’s coming out a day before Season 3 of the fantastic Netflix series? To read more about the latest version of SOTN, just keep reading for the full press details below.

An iconic title within the long-standing Castlevania series, Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is an exploration-action RPG where players jump, dash, and slash their way through Dracula’s vast castle, uncovering a deep story filled with fearsome enemies and colorful characters.
After Richter Belmont’s defeat of Count Dracula, the vampire hunter vanishes without a trace. Castlevania: Symphony of the Night brings players into a story five years later, this time as Alucard, the son of Dracula. In order to purge the world of his own cursed blood line, Alucard attempts to repress his vampiric powers and enter in to what was meant to be an eternal slumber. However with no Belmonts to storm the castle and address the evil in his homeland, Alucard awakens from his self-induced sleep and decides to investigate what transpired during his slumber.
