Konami Digital Entertainment is happy to announce that the Contra: Rogue Corps demo is out now on the Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4 consoles. You can of course find it in the online store on each platform. Players will take on the role of Max ‘Kaiser’ Doyle, leader of the Rogue Corps, as they delve into the Damned City. Contra: Rogue Corps is a third-person, twin-stick action game that takes place several years after Contra 3: The Alien Wars. That game originally released on the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) in 1992.
This latest entry in the Contra series is directed by Nobuya Nakazato, who also directed Contra 3: The Alien Wars, and was also involved in the production of a few other games in the series. The game follows a former military group now living on the outskirts of the Damned City. They live as bounty hunters and search for treasure. Members of the Rogue Corps survive through quick reaction time, a little bit of cybernetic modification, and of course powerful weapons.
According to the press release, the demo shows off the single player campaign, and includes a preview of the game’s big boss battles. In the final game, you will complete missions while gathering resources. Those resources will be needed to upgrade your body parts and weapons to hopefully help keep you alive. You can also enlist the help of a friend (online or couch co-op). There is also an online PVP mode known as Carnage League. You can find out more at the official website.
