Kadokawa Games and publisher PQube are excited to launch Root Letter: Last Answer, which is available on the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 in Europe as of today. Digital copies will be available in North America starting on September 3rd, and not just for consoles, as it will launch on Steam that same day. Fans in North America will have to wait until November 1st to get a physical copy for console. Here is the launch trailer:
All fans who pre-order the game physically or get it in a store will receive the exclusive Day One Edition, which comes with a 100-page art book. According to their press release, it contains some art that has never been released before. Root Letter: Last Answer is rated M for Mature by the ESRB, and PEGI 16 in Europe. It is regarded as a good starting point for those who are interested in getting into visual novels.
Root Letter: Last Answer has some things to offer even if you’ve already experienced the original title. One is a new live action mode, with real backgrounds and a cast of 90 actors. You can access this mode no matter where you happen to be in the story. They’ve also included quality of life improvements. All endings can be reached in your first play through, and there are four new epilogues.
It’s up to you to investigate a murder committed by your former pen pal, Aya Fumino. Your last communication was 15 years ago, and you’ll need explore her hometown in the Shimane Prefecture. Your goal is to uncover clues as you look around and question acquaintances from her past. They may or may not be willing to help you, but either way its up to you to get to the bottom of this terrible mystery. You can find out more at the official website.
