After nearly a decade since the series’ last release, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order has just been announced for release on the Nintendo Switch. This newest entry in will be exclusive to the Switch and feature an all-original story including a myriad of heroes from the Marvel universe. These characters will include those from Guardians of the Galaxy, The Avengers, The Defenders, X-Men, and more. The game’s story will revolve around a plot by Thanos and the Black Order to unleash “cosmic chaos”.
Some of the more standout features that were showcased in today’s Nintendo Direct include the ability to play cooperatively with up to 4 players either locally on a TV, locally with other Switch systems, or online with a Nintendo Switch Online membership. As for character skill sets, each will include basic attacks, alliance extreme attacks, and “ultimate alliance extreme attacks’. These ultimate alliance extreme attacks will rely on the ability of the players to combine their specials with those of other heroes. This should open a large host of possibilities when devising strategies either alone or with other players.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3: The Black Order will launch exclusively for Nintendo Switch in summer 2019. For additional details on this title and others from the stream, take a look at today’s Nintendo Direct.
