On Ohta Suta (Good Morning Star), a children’s variety program on TV Tokyo, announced the production of a new film in the Pokémon franchise. The new film is titled Gekijōban Pocket Monster: Kimi ni Kimeta! (Pokémon the Movie: I Choose You!). The film is set to premiere on July 18, 2017 in Japan.
In addition to the announcement, a teaser for the film was streamed. You can check out that teaser below.
A poster for the movie was also revealed. The poster appears to feature Ash Ketchum (Satoshi), Pikachu and Ho-Oh. You can check out a screen capture of that poster below. Ash appears to be wearing his original outfit from when the anime series first debuted. The poster appears to be a throwback to when Ash first saw Ho-Oh but was unable to register it in his Pokédex.
This newest film looks like it will return to the time when Ash first got Pikachu from Professor Oak. The original anime first premiered in 1997 and now it looks like long time fans will be able to relive some of the moments from Ash’s first adventure.
Are you excited for this next film in the Pokémon series? Are you ready to start Ash’s adventure all over again?
