Today the Nintendo finally unveiled its newest game system, the Nintendo Switch. With the reveal came a slew of new information including a list of publishing partners, games teased in the reveal trailer and various pieces of information from Nintendo and third-party developers. One such piece of info is the reveal that the Switch would be supported by the Unreal Engine 4. This makes sense considering Square-Enix announced earlier this year that Dragon Quest XI would be coming the newly revealed platform, as it runs on the engine. Considering Unreal Engine 4 has become a frequently used engine this generation, its support for Nintendo’s new system is encouraging for future third-party support.
