At Bandai Namco’s Anime Expo panel, the producer of Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization, Yosuke Futami, shared a few personal thoughts on JRPGs and what he would like to see in his future projects.
He admits that when he looks back on old school JRPGs across the world, people are excited to play the most modern games of the time. He admitted that he likes old school JRPGs like Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy VII, and reflected on how people were excited to play them.
He believes that many JRPG producers wants to design those gameplay experiences with modern technology, and try to provide that experience and feeling to people across the world. One guarantee that Yosuke promises: his games will have all these elements and feature lots of girls.
Sword Art Online: Hollow Realization will release in North America and Europe in Fall 2016.
