A number of rumors regarding Namco Bandai have been floating around the internet. The first comes in regards to the Tokyo Game Show, which will start on September 20th. Namco Bandai currently has no games listed for the Wii U but is expected to show off something for Nintendo’s new console.
Yeah, it’s a bit of a slow news day for some people. But if you look at what has been announced for Wii U, Namco Bandai’s offerings are rather slim compared to other big third party publishers like Activision, Ubisoft, and Warner Bros. Interactive. The only games so far are Tank! Tank! Tank! and Tekken Tag Tournament 2, along with a hand in developing the next Smash Bros. Expect to see both Namco Bandai produced games along with something new as well as little to no news on Smash Bros.
The other rumor making the rounds is the possible enhanced remake of StarBlade. The 1991 3D rail shooter arcade game has had its trademark renewed in the US for use with video games. Though it could just be for a classic games collection (which Namco Bandai has released in the past) a new version of StarBlade could work well on its own given not only the recent lack of rail shooters but the modern technology of the Wiimote and the PlayStation Move.
